Hymn Sing Thursday, 9-10-26 at 6:00 P.M.
We put together our own Hymnal at our first Church Plant in Winchester around 2016 and still use it to sing from. The Hymnal includes hymns familiar to you from Hymnals of Baptist, Presbyterian, Methodist, Lutheran, Brethren, Non-denominational, Christian Colleges and from Zion's Harp.
We have selected 16 to play and to sing along from a list of 550. Please come and enjoy these beautiful voices.
Your heart will be touched; your soul will be blessed by these beautiful Hymn recordings as we all read along to the lyrics or sing along in making a joyful noise as best we can. A passage of Scripture relating to the Hymn might be read and the history of some of the Hymns as well. We can only seat 16 people so please arrive early for a seat.
The recordings which we use are from Professional Adult Choirs, Professional Christian Singers, Christian University Choirs, Some Hymn Solos, Gospel Bluegrass, Christian Music Camps and more.
A Hymn from Hank Williams Sr. is also in our Hymnal. The Hymn sums up the reason for the Lord Jesus Christ's coming to Earth.
Although Hank strayed off course and back on course over and over, he wrote the following Hymn and composed the music in 1947. Born in 1923, he was a teenage child of the Great Depression and young adult during the tragedy of The Dust Bowl. They were eras in the United States when many people found their talent and got by as best as they could.
He was only 29 when he died and by the lyrics to the following Hymn, and beside his own battle with Spina Bifida, I can assume he had experienced much of the bad things in life.
Through all of his personal problems he managed to be a testament to some degree for Jesus Christ. May we each find our degree of testament for The Lord of lords and King of kings. May we each be nonjudgemental and in the same moment, live with discernment of biblical teachings.

Hank Williams - House of Gold - YouTube
People steal, they cheat and lie
For wealth and what it will buy
But don't they know on the Judgment Day
That gold and silver will melt away
I'd rather be in a deep, dark grave
And know that my poor soul was saved
Than to live in this world in a house of gold
And deny my God and doom my soul
What good is gold and silver, too
If your heart's not good and true?
Sinner, hear me when I say
Fall down on your knees and pray
For I'd rather be in a deep, dark grave
And know that my poor soul was saved
Than to live in this world in a house of gold
And deny my God and doom my soul
